A closer look at the manufacturers' performances at the TT Circuit Assen

Aprilia have won twice at Assen, with Eugene Laverty in Race 2, 2013 and with Sylvain Guintoli in Race 1, 2014: that was their last podium finish here. Last year their best result was a fourth by Leon Haslam in both races.

Given the form of Torres and Reiterberger, BMW should be able to overcome their recent struggle for results at this track: the last time they finished in the top 10 was in 2013, with Davies 7th in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2, with Melandri also 8th in Race 2. Since then their best result here was a 12th by Badovini last year in Race 2. By comparison, this year either Torres or Reiterberger has been able to finish inside the top 8 in every race run so far.

The next podium placement at Assen for a Ducati bike will be their 70th at this track. They’ve only been able to rack up more on their home circuit of Misano (75). Since the last of their 25 wins here, Race 2 2012 (Guintoli), they have had 4 podiums, including twice last year with Chaz Davies, who was second in both races.

This is one of the best tracks in recent times for Honda: since 2004 they have scored at least one podium per race weekend here. Last year home hero Michael van der Mark was third twice. Honda is second only to Ducati for wins here, 15 to 25, with their podium count standing at 36, making these their best values for any given track in WorldSBK history.

Kawasaki is the manufacturer to beat here: they recorded the double last year with Jonathan Rea and they have been the polesitters in the last four editions. Amidst these amazing performances, they are waiting for a double podium finish in the same race here since the second 2013 race, when Tom Sykes was second and Loris Baz third.

Leon Camier last year recorded the best results for MV Agusta at this track, with both finishes in the top ten.

Yamaha have won twice at Assen: Noriyuki Haga claimed Race 2 in 2000 and Ben Spies won the first 2009 Race from pole. James Toseland was the last Yamaha rider on the podium at the TT Circuit Assen with a second and a third in the 2010 races.
